My visit to the Refraction Clinic

Oh dear, first I failed the eye test in school. So, I was referred to the Refraction Clinic at HPB only to find out that I have acute Astigmatism! Mommy and Daddy do not wear specs and so how come I don't have a perfect vision? I knew myopia couldn't be the case...

Well today I found out that my cornea lens is naturally not straight and smooth as its supposed to be thus it cannot properly focus an image onto my retina. The result--- a blurred image, can't tell the diff between a D and an O, a H and an N...

Astigmatism occurs when the front surface of your eye (cornea) or the lens, inside your eye, has a slightly different surface curvature in one direction from the other. Instead of being even and smooth in all directions, the surface may have some areas that are flatter or steeper.
Astigmatism blurs your vision at all distances. Astigmatism is often present at birth and may occur in combination with nearsightedness or farsightedness. The condition tends to remain constant, neither improving nor deteriorating much over time.

The optometrist told me I need to wear specs all the time so as to ensure the condition does not deteriorate...Watch out for my new look!

The Things Princesses Do...

This is Gwendolyn, the Princess who lives just next door. Lately, we've been spending quite a lot of time together. I'm glad I have a playmate now. We usually cycle together, play with PLAY-DOH, blow bubbles, play catch and even sing and dance together. I've just taught Gwen the High School Musical soundtrack and she's already humming to the tune with me..."Soaring...flying...There's not a star in Heaven that we can't reach..." Boy, she's a fast learner! Today, we had a Bubble Princess Party just outside our 'castle'. Here are our pics...

My best friend...

Lucia Marie is my bestest friend in school. We have the same shoes and some people say we look alike! We meet each other at the traffic light near my home at 0745 every morning before walking to school together. Lucia loves art just like me. She still takes up piano and ballet. I've told Mommy about my interest in ballet my Daddy wouldn't hear of it at all! Mommy says my schedule is already too tight and that I should focus on what I already have and excel in them.

Swimming Lessons

This is my 4th swimming lesson with Coach Ali. I'm waiting for him now and while I do that, thought I might sit around and play with Daddy and Zech for a while. I'm really proud of myself cos I can now dive in for a couple of seconds without fear of the water anymore! Swimming is really fun. I hope to take up swimming seriously and take it up as sports or leisure!
This is me in my swimwear ready for lessons!

Mamma Mia!

Its a SUNDAY, Daddy's working and I've been pestering Mommy as I'm really bored. My playmate/neighbour, Gwendolyn went out shopping so I'm left with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO! In her haste to get back to her tonnes of marking of the O Level Prelims, Mommy suggested I helped my maid with the cooking. So u see, this is my first attempt at cooking. Its a simple dish, fried bee hoon but watch out Mommy, soon I'll be a better cook than you are-not that that is a difficult thing to do!

Zoo Trip

That day, Daddy took leave from work and brought all of us to the Zoo. This was definitely not my first trip to the Zoo so we wanted to make it EXTRA special. I'm glad Daddy and Mommy decided to start by having breakfast with the jungle animals. It was great and then we took photos with the "rambutans", I mean Orang Utans (after Mommy corrected me)... Zech was frowning all the way as the heat was unbearable. And oh, u see that pic of me with the croc? Step aside Steve Irwin! (pardon the pun, I don mean to be rude! Do rest in peace)

My 5th Birthday...

This year we've decided to celebrate my birthday at Nyai and Atuk's house. A simple yet really fun birthday celebration it was. All cousins helped out with the deco. Shafiq and Kakak Farah twirled the streamers all around Nyai's staircase and lamp. Nadiah, Shifa' and I were puffing up the balloons and sticking them all around Nyai's walls! Zechary was helping out with the balloons too- as you can see!*wink* We all wore party hats and of course mine was the most special as it says "Birthday Princess". Can u spot Mommy with the silly looking birthday hat? Don't tell her I said that 'cos she thinks she looked really good!

My First Public Performance

Hi everyone! This was my first dance performance at the Racial Harmony Street Parade. Mommy did the make-up and hair for me. Of course I chipped in and gave her a tip or two. When it comes to fashion and make up, Mommy always says we make a GREAT team! *wink*
